About us
Our Mission
Our mission is to equip the saints for the work of the ministry, serve Christ faithfully, and to proclaim the whole counsel of God as revealed in His word.
Our vision is to see God bless the Southcentral area of Alaska with gospel and Bible centered reformation and revival.
What do we believe?
We believe the Bible to be the only inerrant Word of God. It is our only ultimate and infallible authority for faith and practice.
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” (II Timothy 3:16-17)
While we hold to Scripture as the ultimate authority, in order to make the official stance of our leadership clear, we have adopted several historical confessions and creeds. This leaves little ambiguity on where we stand, and what position we will be preaching and teaching from. It provides accountability for the leadership to the congregation, and to each other.
Keep in mind that members and visitors do not need to fully align at all points (although the basics of Christianity are important for membership). For example, we are officially paedo (infant) baptist. Yet, we have great respect for the Reformed Baptist position and are happy to admit Baptist members.
We have adopted the Westminster Confession of Faith (with minor, ordinary exceptions) Click Here to View. This is the historic Presbyterian confession (circa 1647AD), and forms the backbone of our stated doctrine.
We are fully in agreement with the:
– Apostle’s Creed (Click Here)
– Nicene Creed (Click Here)
– Chalcedon Creed (Click Here)
On church government, we are Reformed Congregational and have adopted the London Baptist Confession at this point (we have opted to adopt the LBC at this point rather than the Savoy Declaration, as it is a more clear statement).
This means that while not formerly affiliated with any denomination, we have a plurality of elders of equal authority, and have committed to work on resolving any issues not able to be resolved internally with any trinitarian local church in line with basic orthodox beliefs. Members who feel that they need outside help can request outside assistance, and our elders are willing to sit down with a mediator in the event this is helpful.
Let us know of any questions on what we believe!
What to expect?
We worship at 11am on Sundays. On the first and third Sundays of the month we have a group potluck meal together.
Our worship follows a traditional Puritan/Reformed liturgy (you can see historical examples, and explanation here: Click Here). The goal of this style of liturgy was and is to follow the biblical example as closely as possible, emphasize simplicity in worship (John 4:24), and elevate the teaching and preaching of the Word of God above all else. We believe that there should be biblical justification for each element of corporate worship.
When it comes to preaching, we believe in biblically centered, expository preaching. The goal is to proclaim the Word of God, not human opinion. While we do expound, teach, explain the Word, our goal is not to stand between the congregation and the Word, but rather faithfully unpack it.
We are a family integrated church, meaning that we encourage families, including those with young kids to worship together. Don’t worry about some of the mess or noise that this entails, we’re used to it and love children growing up worshipping with their parents!
Here is our weekly order of worship:
– Call to Worship
– Singing
– Prayer Requests
– Call to Confession/Repentance
– Corporate Prayer
– Reading of the Word
– Sermon
– Communion (for baptized believers not living in major unrepentant sin)

And of course, this most likely goes without saying, but we love visitors and welcome you to come and join us!
